Tell ALAN how the room should behave
Language → rule program → simulation check offline parser
Say how the room should hang. ALAN turns the sentence into changes to the rule sheet, or into a call for the works about a theme to come to you, and states what it expects to happen. The lab then runs the same twelve seeded rooms before and after the change to check.

Method. In the hang, each work hangs from a soft suspension at a home point: the rule sheet moves it, and where it comes to rest is the hang. Gravity and lift set the level, tilt leans the hang, spin makes it orbit, meaning pulls works together and toward the visitor who names a theme; the amber wireframes show where a forecast that assumes Earth expects each work to be two seconds ahead. A small rigid-body engine runs in the page: semi-implicit Euler at 120 Hz live and 60 Hz in the benchmark, sphere contacts with restitution, Coulomb grip for the robot's wheels, rolling resistance for the ball. Touch-sensitive surfaces keep a pressure field from contact forces in newtons that fades over a set memory; a soft surface dents under that pressure and objects slide into the dents. The Earth model is the same engine fixed at ordinary physics; it forecasts the ball two seconds ahead and its error is the room's surprise. The benchmark uses the same twelve seeds for every rule set. Drag the amber visitor; drag elsewhere to orbit. The twelve works are invented samples.
